It does have an LT1 engine. Unfortunately, when the LT1 was installed in the B body wagons it was "detuned." The 1992 LT1 in the Y-body (Corvette) was factory rated at 300 hp and 330 lb*ft . The 96 Corvette was rated at 300 hp and 340 lb*ft. The 93-95 F-body Camaro/Firebird were rated at 275 horsepower and 325 lb*ft. BUT, the the 96-97 cars were rated at 285 horsepower and 335 lb*ft. Then the 96-97 WS6 and SS Camaro/Firebird were rated at 305 hp. Unfortunately for the B/D (the various big wagons and the Cadillac Fleetwood were only rated at 260 horsepower and 330 lb*ft. SO, if you really want the screaming power of the LT1, you will have to find a Corvette or F-Body LT1 that was not factory detuned OR you figure out how to "undue" the detuning. Donald H.
