Howdy -
My wife totalled her 97 Chrysler last Sunday AM and thankfully she's
recovering. The concussion will take some time and may hide injuries that
might surface later. But it could have been much worse.
As a result, she's become much more safety conscious. So I think she'll
want a MB if we can find the right one. Unfortunately the older 190 is
probably smaller than we'd want. The newer C class might be too small also
and it's not available in diesel - 2 strikes already. Next is the W124 (?)
early 90s diesel but so far the search has been unproductive.
I've found one 93 300D with 80K for $9865 which sounds pretty good. But I'd
like to have more than one to select from. Also, this one is in a northern
state which makes me worry about salted roads and rust.
I've checked the paper, eBay and numerous used car internet sites. Also
tried MB-USA and there was only one listed. There's *got* to be more in the
national MB inventory - guess they don't care to include them all.
Any suggestions? Probably won't buy for another month or so ---
Trying to find a used '90s Mercedes diesel IS a challenge. Fewer
Mercedes diesels were imported to the US in all of the '90s than in any
ONE year in the early/mid '80s.
