Andrew - Yeah really! What I thought I had sent as an answer to why the rubber ring had ended up in your lap was that I have had at times an instance where the rubber ring seems to stick on the opening in the instrument panel partially pulling the ring from the cluster. I thought that maybe yours had done that but to the point where it was actually pulled free from the cluster as you pulled the cluster free from the instrument panel.
