I know somebody who knows about the expansion valve, too. BTW, tie a string
or tape to the wrenches to keep from losing them in the abyss. Magnet can
recover lost nut. Re. my evapectomy article. ;<))))))))

I've done one too, hoping it's a leak at the expansion valve that I found
with my leak detector. Just hasn't been hot enough to go to the trouble
of getting the expansion valve out.

Just got 31.2 mpg on the last tank on the 87 300D without air (busted
again, haven't fixed it yet). Got just about 31 on the tank before.
My brother's 300SDL gets about 28 on the highway with the AC on.
I wish I'd gotten a 2.5L instead, though...
