The advantage of the 401K. In 40 years when tax rates have risen at least in
theory I won't have to pay tax on my 401K money...
Remember, as I told my parents "Spend it all, don't leave any for me, I'll make
my own."
Of course Dad keeps building stuff on the farm (the garage and now the
expansion on the camp) which I own half of (we're joint tenants) and I'm an
only child anyway...

I'm 75; mortgage interest is only 4.25, but the thing that's really making
me pause in paying off the $17k is income tax hit all at one time on the
cash from the IRA.
