And do remember, that the bigger the cable the better. I have #10/3 to my 
garage which allows me 220V at 30A but
that just is not enough. My stick welder can pop the breakers if I crank the 
power up on it. I just acquired a nice
used length of Teck cable and will ultimately dig it into the ground from the 
house to the garage - #6 so I can run
a bit more power to the garage. My only real issue is that my panel in the 
house is full and I already have 2
subpanels. I need to bit the biscuit so to speak and get an electrician in to 
move us up to a 200A service and a
bigger panel.
