you may not have to look for anything oher than just a simple heavy duty
replacement spring and shock as long as it the trailer doesn't exceed your cars
towing capacity.

I am looking to start pulling a small trailer on a regular basis with my '83
SD.
Has anyone looked into spring/shock upgrades in the rear to compensate for the
extra weight? It'd be awesome if I had the self-leveling of the later 126 S
class cars.....

Go with the Bilsteins and if possible and you can find them Sachs or Boge are
just as good
I have Sachs on my VW (they are standard equipment on VW's anyway) and the ride
is firm but in my opinion not as harsh as the Bilsteins
