Hi Tom, Well now you know what to look forward to at the chowdahQ -more of Fred's subtle humor. I have seen those save the tatas buttons-I once saw a whole group of women with them-must have come from a meeting or something. Dwight
Bissell Cove Quahog & Auto Salvage Co Dwight E. Giles, Jr. Wickford RI 02852 Hi Curt, Forget sending the check.... please accept it, with my compliments, as a small donation for supplies for the ChowdahQ next month. It's not much, but what the heck. And... I knew it was a double entendre, btw. I just didn't want Fred to think that no one noticed his little witticism. :) On a more serious note, while looking for ta ta in the urban dictionary, (honest!) I stumbled on this: http://www.savethetatas.com/ I wasn't quite sure what to make of it at first, ---- was it serious or tongue in cheek----but it actually IS a commercial enterprise that donates a portion of the proceeds to the fight against breast cancer. .... and does so with a sense of humor. Hmmm. I am still not sure what to make of it, but it is certainly a novel approach in my experience to a very serious subject. I am reminded of the whole Norman Cousins/cancer/Marx Brothers Films story a few years back. I personally think that there is not nearly enough laughter in the world. I try to do my part to correct that. As does Fred, I see. :) Ta ta, :) Tom Schuch SE Connecticut 1975 W115 300D and a bunch of BMWs Message: 8 Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2009 18:08:42 -0700 (PDT) From: Curt Raymond <curtlud...@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [MBZ] waiting for the Tatas To: Diesel List <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <486933.96944...@web32807.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Tom, I'm glad you posted, it reminded me to send you a check. That should go out tomorrow. What we've got from Fred is known as a double entendre... Heres a little comic that illustrates what I'm getting at: http://chugworth.com/?strip_id=65 :) This is almost as much fun as the time I posted "what a maroon" and Chuck L (what ever happened to him?) thought I ment "moron" and reminded me that "maroon" is a color... -Curt Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2009 18:30:55 -0400 From: tom tomscat <tomsc...@hotmail.com> Subject: [MBZ] waiting for the Tatas To: <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <bay109-w42b269572258d40ffc10978d...@phx.gbl> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1252" Yes, Fred, but.... he was referring to those vehicles from India that go by that name.
