if i can feel confident in cloyes and they are what i think they are, i'd like to go that route. any of you guys know anythign about them?
It has been decades, but "back in the day" Cloyes roller timing chains were "the" timing chain of choice for anyone building a performance engine. IIRC, on your Saturn the timing chain problem is caused by a lack of lubrication. You might want to go to the library and get on ALLDATA to see if there is a TSB on it. I am certain that if it is a common problem there is. You will probably end up drilling out an oil passage orifice for greater oil deliver to the timing chain.
