I drove the 240D to work Friday and the throttle was real annoying all the way home. It'd stick at about 2500rpm which made for a nice cruise control but annoying... So today I finally got to look at it. I lubricated all the fittings save one which I couldn't get apart. I bent one bit of frame back that looked like it might have been rubbing. Lubricated all the pivot points too and still the stick. Finally in desparation I pulled the little shock thing, it turns out crud had built up in the dust shield and was making the shock sticky. I cleaned it good and now theres no problem. I took the car for a good half hour drive and it slows like it should again. I also got a look at the oil cooler bypass. My Indy did a real good job with that, he ran the new oil cooler lines I'd bought up to where they belong and then used a piece of hose to jump from one line to the other and clamped it good. I couldn't detect any sign of leakage although the car only has 3 hours runtime on it with the repair. At anyrate if/when I get an oil cooler it'll be easy to install with the lines already in place. -Curt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
