The manny tranny 190D my son recently traded to get is gettinghard to start
with the lower temps. To the point that it ran the battery down and required
a jump to get started last time at 45F.
The glow plug light seems to work appropriately most of the time (once it
didn't light at all). We measuerd voltage to all of the glow plugs, but
didn't check current or resistance of the plugs.
When the engine does finally start, it hits on all cylinders and runs fine.
It was starting OK, with more cranking than we like in a Diesel, but not
more than a couple of seconds. It was in the 60's then.
I'm not sure whether this would be more likely a glow plug issue or an air
in the fuel line issue. We don't see any obvious fuel leaks (after replacing
the really rotten bypass tubing).

FYI - the other POS 190D, auto tranny, starts on the first or second
compression stroke every time, but is leaking tranny fluid all over the
drive - lucky we didn't burn it up on the drive hopme from Kleb's.
