My 124 is 23 years old; the 126 is 19 years old - still young enough.

Yeah me/mine, too, but this time, it scared me, 'cause it hasn't been warm
enough recently even for her to have cranked it to full cold. 'Been trying
for 30 years to get her to set it and leave it, except for an occasional
slight adjustment, maybe.

Sheesh you guys are suspicious.
I'd bet in the morning if my wife stops for a breakfast sandwich the heat
dial on the 190D is ALWAYS at full red when its cold out.
You and I both know it doesn't have to go that far and that she'll be
turning it back down. I've told her probably 5 dozen times she doesn't
have
to mess with the dial but she messes with it just the same....

Go ahead. It's only 75 miles - not like the 250-mile goose chase I went on
to look at a 124 five years ago. It may really be as innocent as seeing
the
same blue on AC wheel in my 91 350SDL coupla days ago. SWMBO came in from
a
short trip to drug store and told me that windshield wiper was not working
well. I went out to the car, noticed a leaf under the blade; removed the
leaf; turned the wipers on; they worked fine. Meanwhile, I noticed the AC
control wheel full blue. 'Scared me; I moved it back to the normal
just-ever-slight-bit-of-blue and went back inside. Immediately asked SWMBO
if she'd had problem recently getting enough cool air in the car. She
replied, "No, why?" I said, "Well, I noticed the AC control wheel is full
blue." She replied, "Well, I didn't crank it blue. Oh, I got it washed
yesterday. Somebody at the carwash may have turned it inadvertently while
wiping the interior with a towel." OK, mystery solved, I feel better. But
I still suspect that may not be the case with the gold SDL 'til somebody
checks it.
