There is no free electricity coming out of any alternator/generator. Physics always wins.

How long have you been on the list? There was talk of this a year or more ago. IIRC Luther said they'd tried it in his truck fleet and while mileage did improve measurably so did moisture and the problems attendant with it. There was an interesting bit on "Talk of teh Nation - Science Friday" on NPR last week about the difficulties of getting real hydrogen from water. They were talking about it for use in houses using solar cells to create hydrogen which was stored for later use but the same problems would I think be present in its use in a car. Nothing is free. People will tell you that the alternator produces more electricity than the car needs but those are people that don't understand voltage regulators very well....
