I think we had this conversation before (about replacing M110 engines with OM617s) and the transmission and rear end ratio were points of concern. Do G-Wagens use unique transmissions to mate up to the transfer case and center differential? If not, you could perhaps swap in an automatic along with the 617. No idea about the rear diff.
