My sister retired to Fairbanks and it's up to 15 degrees today, so it is
warmer than where you are.

It is currently 11 degrees here in Wichita. We have reached the high temp
for the day. It is supposed to get down to 5 degrees below zero. The
winds are crazy here in Kansas, so the wind chill is in the negative
teens and will be 20 below tomorrow. Tommorrow, we are supposed to have a
high of 8 degrees. The area between our office building entrance and the
parking garage creates a wind tunnel and the winds can be 30-40 mph when
walking from the garage to entrance to the building.
I cannot imagine living in Alaska. This cold hurts.
