Usually a tranny leak at the torque converter means it's rebuild time, alsa -- all the rubber is gone (hence the leak from the petrified seal), but the seal usually doesn't leak enough to be more than a minor annoyance unless the pump also has excess play, etc.

Pan "ears" need to be bent back down to fix the leak unless it's been a long time since the gasket was replace, in which case a new one will fix the leak.

I'd do what I need to do on the 300D -- change the fluid, replace pan gasket and filter, and see what happens. You can live for a long time with a minor leak at the front seal if there are no other signs of tranny trouble.
