For some reason I was thinking this car had a laundry list of problems, must have confused it with another W124. Mileage is undisclosed, but for now I'll assume it's high enough to keep the retail value at or below $3200. Then you have the tranny problem, which may be missing shift bushings but is more likely to be a tranny so worn that the delay on shifting into reverse is approaching infinity.
Best case for the rest of the car and worst case for the tranny, you pay $2200 to have a rebuilt tranny installed, everything else is top-top, and the resulting car is worth $3k or maybe a bit more. In reality, if it's worn out the tranny, it probably needs a good bit of suspension work and maybe a valve job.
