She is "practical" and just does not have a passionate bone in her body about material things. I think she had a need for new car once in her life and this fit her penny pinching needs. It is stable enough to drive, had some bells and whistles. Not a Benz by a long shot in any quality or form. It gets her from point A to B. Reliable and the dealer will do the shop work. I am not going to touch the thing. Uses 87 octane and dino, so she saves cash that way. The mileage is suck, but I guess you trade off. There is a diesel engine for it. I just have to source it from Australia. Drop that baby in five years from now.

I had pointed out that the kids are getting larger every day, and I am getting less willing to bend myself into pretzel to sit in a car with her. So she gets a car that will allow legs to not clot up while on long rides.

SWMBA wandered around and I pointed the sales guy at the Azera. He found one that had been used as Demo and was selling as new with all the warranty and such. She liked it enough to make the poor sales people dance around while we just looked at them from the other side of the desk and muttered

How can she go from a W124 to an Azera? It and its Kia sister the
Amanti are among the wallowiest, most crummily suspended FWD cars
ever. An order of magnitude worse than the big GM boats with the 3.8
V6 that Hursty is always pushing.

Excellent materials and interior build quality, though, at least in
the one I sat in at a new-car show a few years ago (it may have been
handpicked, though.) Just as good as Lexus and better than Mercedes,
I remember thinking.
