1982 Mercedes-Benz, 300D, fuel injected, turbocharged diesel, 4-door,
5-passenger sedan. My deceased grandfather ordered it from the factory
in 1982. This car only has 148,327 original miles (@ 25,000 miles driven
by me over the last two years) as my grandmother only drove to and from
the grocery store on a weekly basis over the last 12 years. The original
Palamino MB Tex upholstery (I'm assuming that's what its called) and the
wood grain interior are in very good condition. The exterior paint has
faded in places as my grandmother kept it parked in a semi-open car port
in Myrtle Beach. $500 at Maaco would make the car look brand new. The
original turbo engine is in very good shape as it has had regular oil
changes. My intentions were to keep it and use it as my primary vehicle
but I am now doing a lot of interstate traveling and a classic car like
this is really best for daily "around town" use.
Features of this car include: 4-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, climate control, power assisted four wheel disc brakes, cruise
control (works sporadically), central locking system, fully independent
suspension, electric windows, electronically heated rear window,
automatic antenna with selective height adjustment, two speed windshield
wipers with 5-second interval mist control, tachometer (works
sporadically), front and rear center folding arm rests, parcel nets,
fully adjustable front bucket seats, halogen fog lamps, halogen head
lamps, front headrests, trunk carpeting, first aid kit, Becker Europa
stereo Am/FM radio, electrically operated sliding roof.
