Ok, my kid has a small bass practice amplifier. It is solid state ( no vacuum tubes, only transistors). The only sound it produces is a 60 cycle hum that is independent of the volume control. Any clues on where to start? Power transformer maybe?
Blown transistor. Bad connection in input jack, volume control, etc. Kidz' guitar amps don't lead an easy life!
