Hey, Listers. I wanted to make it known that I'm still on board with the
list and still keeping my 240d. Some of you may remember the saga that was
unfolding several weeks ago with me and my '83 240d.
To recap: I had my brother purchase this CA, AZ, rust-free honey with 120k
for me. But when I went out to AZ to pick her up, the engine was blown, or
otherwise shot (mystery what's wrong). Brother claims not to know what
happened, but the engine is siezed.
So once in AZ (on a one-way airline ticket) and finding my ride home shot, I
frantically petitioned the list for advice - (thanks to all who helped). I
was, at that time, deciding between selling the thing and keeping it. In the
end, my desire for the vehicle won out, and I am going to do what it takes
to make it whole again.
I chose this vehicle for a reason, and I won't let this obstacle kill my
dream. I really admire these '80's 123's, and that's what I want to be
driving - especially the 240, with its simplicity (manual gear box and
windows, and it's decent fuel mileage).
So, to end the rambling: Again, I wanted to let the listers know I'm still
onboard, and I still enjoy the list, and I will have many Diesel questions
forthcoming in the near future.
ALSO: I am intrigued by this frappr map thing that I see. What's the srory
on it? As far as I can see, it's simply a way for people to say, hey, I live
here, and here's a pic of my car, and hello. I'd like to put in my bid as
the only Minnesota dieseler. Am I missing something?
