Sounds like a good price to me. Around here it seems they won't touch a car for less the 75-90 an hour.

Subject: [MBZ] rear suspension upgrade 84 300D

I had my independent garage owner,
replace 4 rear control arm bushings,
replace both axle bearings(one was leaking)
switch sides on the axles,
replace boots on right side(other side was new)
replace subframe bushings
Parts came from Rusty ! Thanks
Labor cost $520.00 at 55.00 per hour. Seemed like a fair price, was
he in the ball park?

Ride is greatly improved and the rear steering and sway is gone. It
feels great and I would highly recommend it.

Mike

p.s. still working on intermittent hard starting problems by replacing hoses. Difficult to diagnose because it doesn't happen all the time.
Recently it happens immediately after shutting down, but works fine
after sitting for a couple of hours.
