If the photographer then shares that photo on-line, they've also posted the date/time and location of the photo. Folks with privacy (or OPSEC) considerations might not like to have such info in the public domain, where nefarious intentions can lead to bad results.
These days, the nefarious people you most need to worry about are the ones who already have access to your cell records without a warrant, any time they want it.
