That page agrees with what I've read about the internals of the struts---they are a VERY simple mechanism and the only hard part is just getting them apart to get to the seals. Should be a lot easier job than rebuilding, say, a motorcycle fork (which people do all the time). I too will be following your progress closely, Jim!
