>From memory and hopefully the same on your later car as on my '87: >From the front, pull the knob straight off, pry up the rectangular black plastic piece around it, then unscrew the big nut---25, 27 mm, something around there. Then get your head into the footwell looking up and you'll see how to remove the padded interior-color surround under the steering column. That gives you access to the back of the switch. You may have to remove the trim around the ignition cylinder as well to get it to swing out enough so you can see what you're doing.
