While I appreciate your trimming the previous posts, what the hell are you 
talking about in this one? You trimmed out all the context so I don't know 
who/what you are replying to/about.

No, it's a 1950's (styling and design, hasn't changed any) canister  
with power head for carpet.  Long hose, mostly metal and rubber, very  
little plastic, spherical wheels on the canister, uses a conical filter.

Very quiet, fabulous suction, and fairly pricey.  That said, my  
brother just had to put brushes and replace an inner filter he didn't  
know about on his -- after 20 years!  Other than the dog eating the  
cord about five times, that's all that has been done to it.

I just bought a used one, and I suspect I'll never use anything  
else.  Great vacuum, lasts forever, still american made, believe it  
or not.
