I got smart, and use a set of HV meter probe ends and a cable with a 1M resistor spliced inline. I do have to violate the "one hand behind the back" rule in order to use it on caps that aren't referenced to ground though. Guess I need to get a spare set of Fluke HV gripper-probe ends and make up a new cable....
