Yer late! Actually 10 on the crank is the limit. I looked it up.
That is 5 on the cam. Mine was set to around 20 BTDC. Moving the
chain one link ahead on the cam, made it better. (see related posts)
that brought it in to about 1.5 degrees stretch.
Now the IP is all out of time too. Waiting on parts.
If you are lining up the mark on the camshaft with the mark on the
first tower,
then read the pointer on the crank balancer, I would say that 5 is the upper
limit.

measurement on the crank for max stretch?
I think it is 6 degrees at the cam, so 12 at the crank. Is that correct?
