The question on my new baby - 1996 S420. I had a new thing occur a few days ago.
The car starts and runs fine for a short hop to somewhere. I park it and go in for 20 minutes to 1.5 hours, and the first time it shifts from 1 to 2 it give a hard jerks. Then it is fine again, pretty much for the rest of the day, or at least several hours. One jerk only one time and then is fine. I am assuming it is a vacuum problem that rectifies itself, but wondered if that was something anyone has run into before, and what might cure it? Also, the mirror on the gray [black interior with gray trim] L visor on my wife's 140 [1997 S320] had a damaged hinge. I found a good one on eBay and bought it, but he sent me the wrong side. I discovered that the new one had the extension arm, which I really like so I got an even better price on the other one. The short story is that I now have a matched set of gray visors for a 140 - R is as it should be; L has a damaged hinge. If anyone needs them they are yours for the postage to ship them to you.
