I have a road trip to Detroit to make with the 83 300d. The a/c does not
work. Everything looks intact and it had a slight amount of pressure when I
poked the shrader(sp?) valve on the low pressure side. I would like to have
ANY a/c. Does not have to be "ice cold" to help keep from sweating to
death.
Assuming everything works as it should am I likely to damage anything with
the epoxy on r-134 adapters and a recharge of the wal-mart r-134? I have
searched and searched for Jim's test refrigerant locally and find nothing
with isobutane, only butane and propane.
So, if I will only damage the fittings and it will work fair on 134 then I
will go for it, if it is likely to damage my compressor or anything else I
will bring a big cooler of ice water.

Thanks, Mike
