This is according to a friend that is a chemist for Marathon here in La.
He does all the testing for diesel products. Cetane rating is 50 or above.
Marathon exports about 40% of their diesel output to Europe.
The refinery here in Gary La. is the largest diesel refinery in the US.
Here in Michigan, it all come out of the same pipeline as none of it is refined
locally. The gasoline is widely believed to be 'all the same' and I suspect the
#2 is too.
