I'm trying to track down some weirdness with my 1998 S500 where the
trunk opens when I start the car. The Locking and Close Assist pump
connections use a round plastic connector with 4 arms that extend over
the nipple on the pump. Each has an inside barb that catches a lip on
the nipple to keep it in place. Looks like you have to pull all 4
outward from the nipple at once to get the thing off. Anyone know a
trick to get them off easily? Is there a tool that would help?

Suggestions on fixing the underlying problem are appreciated as well.
Rusty can get me the pump, but I'd like to do a bit of troubleshooting
first.

Thanks
