Not that I am anti-American, but in this age of a global economy, it's pretty
ludicrous to think that the "Buy American" approach is remotely practical.

Since I know I can't make a dent by boycotting foreign products, I continue to
do something I think is relevant and productive for the economy - I do
everything within my power to patronize locally owned privately held
businesses. This has been the mantra around our house for many years, and we go
out of our way to do it.

It may, and often does, cost me more, but in most cases it's incremental. I
look at this as a win-win, since it helps keep my neighbors in business as well
as keeps my hard earned money close to home.
