I always do transmissions cold. Hot oil is just too hot to bathe in if you
happen to spill it all over yourself.

Meaning, should I drain it cold or is it better to drive around until
the fluid is fully warmed up before draining?

I always drain engine oil hot, but transmission fluid seems thinner so
I'm not sure it matters as much. Also since I'll be cleaning the pan
maybe it's better to drain it cold and not stir up any dirt that's
settled to the bottom of the pan.
