Ja! Sehr Gut! I've been thinking that my next monstrosity might be a 240D 2.5 turbo. Seems like a OM602 turbo 5 speed migh be nice propulsion for a 123 240D. It may never get beyond thinking stage, but I always thought a 240D with a turbo and a 5 speed or 5th over might be pretty much fun and economical.

Added benefit: no more adchust der falfes.

Neat!

Yup, you got it (or rather, I do). When I was in grad school in Austin,
the automatic transmission of our 240D died most severely. The
independent shop I used wanted $2500 to put in a replacement. So, I
changed it to a 5-cylinder with stick shift with the proper,
naturally-aspirated 300D differential (among a lot of other parts).
