Amen brother!
I can drive my entire 55 mile commute in a manual transmission car
talking on my hand held phone with no incidents, close calls, near
misses or anything other than a completely normal commute, nearly
every day for a year...
We need real driver training and testing in this country, driving is
a privilege not a right.

May I suggest spending a Franklin (or less) on a good bluetooth
headset? Blue Parrot B250

These are incredible. I had a guy argue with me that I was driving
down the road. He was convinced I was in a sound insulated office.
The noise cancelling is that good. They are made to cancel out the
noise in a truck cab.
I used to spend hours with a cell phone in my ear. It was to the
point that I would get "burns" (for lack of a better term) in my ear.
With the Blue Parrott wireless headset, there is no longer any
problem, and there is none of the feedback those stupid ear hook
headsets give you.
No financial interest etc... (usual disclaimers) Just trying to pass
on something that really works well.
I found a refurb for $35....
