Or, find an old router at your local second hand store that will take DD-WRT and you can setup a bridge easily. Just keep some kind of fan pointed at the router.

You need a bridge, not a repeater.

You can buy them relatively cheap, or you can go with something like an Apple
Airport Express, which is pretty much a plug and play solution.

Rich,
Are you going to get a repeater or is there a router that will reach the
distance. In my case I need go from upper left Bedroom/office to the garage
at lower right. around 50'-60' I get occasional connection on my Dell Laptop
but it's very spotty. Don't know how to boost the power or reception
ability....

Any experts out there? (actually don't need a expert, just someone who
knows more than I do) ;-)

BTW, it is nice to have a computer in the garage ---

TIA ---

I bought a 19" LCD off CL from a woman who lives close by, she wanted $40 for
it, I gave her $30 and she was happy, and I was happy Hooked it up to the Habitat
Compaq box a guy there gave me, loaded winders and ubuntu and it is now going to be
my shop machine once I carry it out there, and get a router that can reach to the
garage.
