Curt--

You probably have a block heater--just not the cord. Check on the passenger side of the engine--about where the block heater is on a 240D. There may be a plastic cap on the block heater--you just need to buy the cord from Rusty. I had to do that on two 190Ds.

Okay I've been going through Rusty's site and making a list, he had the switch bits I needed for the seats (YAY!) and a bunch of other stuff.

The thing I didn't see and haven't seen anywhere yet is a block heater. The block heater on my 240D has been a savior many times, at -20F the 240D doesn't have a chance. So I'm keen to get a heater for the 190D. I did notice this morning at 20F that the 190D started easier than the 240D, I barely turned the key and it was running, not that the 240D started hard but the 190D just seemed easier. So do I not need a block heater on this car? Its gotten to -20F every winter since I've had a diesel MB so I would bet it'll do it again this year.
