ISO8691 is how time and date _should_ be written. YYYY.MM.DD HH:MM:SS The year 3141 is a long way off, and there is no 59th month. But if we are going to use arbitrary date formats, how about days from the Unix epoch. 314159 = 2760-02-09 31415 = 1986-01-03 Or we could count days from the Hebrew year zero. Or count seconds from 1 AD. Or whatever else strikes our fancy.
