Max,

Look into the start lock-out relay (K38), behind the instrument cluster. When I had buzzing from the dash and my car wouldn't start.

Resend, looks like this didn't get out.

Bizarre break-down during my commute. About ten minutes into my drive
I notice the oil gauge reading zero. I pull off, engine sounds just
fine, but there is a faint electrical whine from the dash that is new.

I shut down the engine and check the oil level, it is fine. Under the
oil cap there seems to be oil reaching the valve train. I try to
restart, but the starter doesn't work now (no click, no dimming of
lights).

I also notice that when the key is turned to the instrument light test
(position 2) on the left side the fuel and temp gauges don't work and
only the alternator light works (brake, oil, and coolant lights don't
light). The stuff on the right side (pre-glow and all the rest,
including ABS) is working normally. Also the faint electrical whine is
back.

Any ideas?!?

I'm waiting for the tow now.
