Maybe not, but the transmission shouldn't be why. DSGs from various
manufacturers have proven themselves reliable over the past 10 years and
it's a sure bet that they (and CVTs) will replace conventional (hydraulic)
automatic transmissions for good as part of the continuing quest for better
fuel economy.

But, if there are any issues, I suspect it will be an expensive fix. If
one buys the car new, and treats it well, then it might be ok so long as
there are no real bugs in it but buying a used one is a bit of a gamble.
I like the idea of the MB 4matics but the cost of repair does scare me a
bit.
I paid more than $3500 to replace a clutch in a 98 F150 4X4.
