Odd...

I've had one for years now... its one of the few cars I won't sell.

Sure, 110hp isn't exactly ideal for a car of that weight, but it does work
very well in the car.  Its geared to keep the engine sitting right where it
makes loads of torque when you're on the highway, like all the other turbo
diesels.  Each time I drive it I'm impressed with how easily it goes over
80 mph.

The 2nd gear start transmission that the early cars had doesn't help things
off the line, but a kick down to first is enough when you need it.

By then, the M117 in the 450s were getting pretty smogged down and were far
off from the power they made when introduced in the early 70s.  Looking
back, the diesel was the right engine choice for that car and its reflected
in the cars' values today.
