I have a number of old cans of engine additives that I may never use. Does
anybody know what is in these cans? They do not list ingredients, except to say
"petroleum distillates". If you swallow it, "call a doctor", and "do not induce
vomiting".
This one is called Therm-o-Lube ring and valve free conditioner "for top engine
performance". Not sure if the "top" refers to the part of the engine, or to the
performance. The manufacturer is "1963 Thermolube, Inc." It could be from that
year.
It promises, among other things, the following:
- reduces friction to a minimum
- removes carbon and sludge
- more mileage
- frees hydraulic lifters and piston rings

Curiously, it does not say it is flammable.
Might this just be a detergent? Would it be useful in an older engine? Might it
have any other uses today (killing weeds, wood preserver, termite preventer,
etc.)? I ask because I need to dispose of clutter and I have a tendency to not
dispose of things that I "might need some day".
