Forums were nearly useless. One jerk chastised a fellow with same question to
purchase the $$$ manual, when the OP finally found the hidden screws, jerky boy
chimed in with a hint that led me to realize that the entire front bumper
cover, basically entire plastic face of the car, had to come off to reveal two
hidden screws. Dozens of screws later the face was off, hidden screws removed,
and radiator came right out.
So step one in any work near the front of the car is to remove the bumper cover?
My friend who owns a 2003 Jetta said something about having to remove the bumper
to replace a headlight bulb, or maybe it was the cloudy plastic headlamp
assembly. Either way, I was quite surprised when he mentioned bumper removal.
