I have an intermittent tach in my '83 300D. I've noticed that changing buttons on the ACC controller usually brings it back to life. My AC doesn't work so I don't know if the AC cuts out with the tach, but there does seem to be something going on.
Different fuses, as you note, but perhaps a common ground somewhere? Allan "G. M.
