I'm confused too. There was never an E420 wagon - nor any V8 engine in a 124 station wagon, that I know of. It must have been an E320 wagon. All the 124 sedans have the tanks in the trunk, where it's nearly impossible to puncture them with road debris. I do believe the 124 wagon tank is exposed under the car, though - that would make a lot more sense.
