"There were Vietnamese guys at MIT who lived in the library, had a bedroll and a few clothes, washed up in the gym, kept their stuff in a corner at a desk/carrel (is that what those things are?) and basically went to class and studied the rest of the time. That was their life, but they were clearly dedicated and lived cheepcheep (food only)." When I was at Widener U. [Pa.] in 1968 for engineering at the age of 18 ,[1968-the Vietnam war] I was competing with the South Vietnamese schooling for engineering.... Forget the curve they created !! I ended up with a minor in engineering/major in business & graduated in 3 1/2 years .Served me right cause I went into my grandfathers architectural metal business. I basically went into electrical engineering so that I could design better hearing aids for people like me who could only hear only 40% WITH a hearing aid [ I was born that way due to measles in the 50's ] The Vietnamese used to have Math parties on Fri & Sat. among themselves when we "normal" college kids were at our respective wild fraternities filled with girls that we confiscated from other campuses [ Our slogan for Harcum College was Harcum, Parkum,F$%#um]...BTW Any Theta Chi's out there ?? [OX] Bob [Whose draft no. was 25 ] eventually got 4-F... but volunteered anyway but got rejected [My father was a diehard Navy guy]....I guess if somebody asked me to cover him I would say "What did you say ?"...Well at least I tried............I even offered to work in an office to serve my country but they refused me.. I lost a best friend there so my hearts out to all you guys who served in the service....God Bless You VETERANS !!!.... Bob .............Enjoy your holidays !! _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/
