Well the element doesn’t have an infinite life, but with that being said, when
I worked in the High Arctic we would leave the vehicles plugged in all the time
we were not driving.
But just as a matter of economics if you were not going to drive it for a week
I would plug it in 24 hours before I started it.
You don’t mention the Outside air temperature (OAT) but if economics is not a
problem and your talking well below zero I would plug it in and leave it.
So to answer your question: The element doesn’t have an infinite life but no,
leaving it in for a week shouldn’t hurt.
