From a Mercedes list:
"My friend who owned one of the oldest stealerships in the country (imported by Studybakker back then) was in Stuttgart during labor negotiations one year in the mid 80s. The negotiations droned on and on until the company told the union that they would agree to the demands, but the beer would come out of the factory. The union withdrew their demands, and the beer flowed. He overheard frmo the hallway, and thought it was a great story."
Mercedes has vending machines with beer. If an employee drinks too much and gets tipsy, he's given a less demanding job to do. The construction of Mercedes vehicles has always been powered by beer. Germany is the only EU nation that maintained a healthy balance of payments through the past recession. The U.S. should learn a lesson from this. It needs to outlaw softdrinks and replace them with beer.
