Finally found the reference I was looking for on the MBCA forums. NAPA used to carry Balkamp BK 605-3411, last year their price was about $20. They no longer carry it.

Yes, and Rusty/Worldpac lists an aftermarket version (probably the same), but I wouldn't bother with anything but factory Mercedes. The cheaper versions lack a screw-on connection to the block, and tend to work loose from the connector very quickly in my experience.
